KERR DENTAL OptiBond FL
A Fourth-Generation Bonding System for Use on Dentin and Enamel

Features:

  • Ethanol-based formulation.
  • Contains 48% glass fillers, which reduce polymerization shrinkage and provide stronger bonding.
  • Can be safely applied without layering in both dry and moist environments.
  • Suitable for both direct and indirect applications, functioning as both a base material and adhesive.
  • Combines bonding and priming in a single product, simplifying the procedure.
  • No mixing required.
  • A single application followed by light curing is sufficient.
  • Available in single-use application format for convenience and hygiene.

Application:

  1. Isolation and Drying:
The area to which Kerr OptiBond FL will be applied is first isolated and dried to ensure optimal bonding.

  2. Etching:
A 37.5% phosphoric acid gel is applied to the dentin and/or enamel for 15 seconds to condition the surface.

  3. Rinsing:
The acid is thoroughly rinsed away with water for at least 15 seconds, ensuring all residue is removed from the surface.

  4. Drying the Surface:
The area is then air-dried for 5 seconds. However, care must be taken to ensure the dentin remains slightly moist and not fully dried.

  5. Applying the Primer:
Kerr OptiBond FL Primer is gently applied to the dentin/enamel surface, allowing it to remain in contact for 15 seconds to ensure optimal penetration and preparation.

  6. Air-Drying:
The surface is air-dried for 5 seconds. The dentin/enamel should exhibit a slightly glossy appearance after the primer application.

  7. Applying the Adhesive:
Kerr OptiBond FL Adhesive is applied to the dentin/enamel, again allowing it to contact the surface for 15 seconds.
If necessary, gentle air blowing can be used to thin or spread the adhesive evenly across the surface.

  8. Light Curing:
The adhesive is then light-cured for 20 seconds to ensure it sets properly.

  9. Continuation of Restoration:
The bonding procedure is followed by the placement of the composite material, completing the restoration.
