Cavalite - Light-Curing Base Material with Hydroxyapatite and Glass Ionomer
Product Features:
- Versatile Application: Can be used beneath all types of composite and amalgam restorations, making it a reliable base material for various dental procedures.
- Decay Prevention: Releases fluoride and calcium, which helps to prevent secondary caries by reinforcing the tooth structure.
- Radiopaque: The material is radiopaque, ensuring easy identification on radiographs for monitoring and assessment.
Packaging:
- Cavalite Kit (Product Code: 20282)
- Includes 1 x 10ml Cavalite Bottle
- 1 x Mixing Pad
Application Procedure:
- Cavity Preparation: The tooth cavity is prepared according to standard procedures.
- Rinsing and Drying: The cavity is thoroughly rinsed with water and then dried with air. Care is taken to ensure the area remains dry for optimal adhesion.
- Mixing the Material: A small amount of Cavalite is dispensed onto the mixing pad. It is important to keep the material away from daylight, as it will begin to harden within 5 minutes if exposed.
- Application: A small amount of Cavalite is placed into the cavity. Using an applicator stick, spread the material evenly over all dentinal surfaces, ensuring a uniform thickness of approximately 0.5 mm.
- Light Curing: The material is light-cured for 20 seconds at the closest possible distance. If the cavity is deep, a light-curing time of 30 seconds is recommended.
- Excess Removal: Any excess material that has come into contact with the enamel should be removed with a spatula before the curing process.
- Final Restoration: Once the Cavalite base has been applied and cured, the surface can be etched, and the preferred restoration technique can be completed.
Cavalite is a highly effective light-curing base material designed to provide enhanced protection against secondary caries and ensure long-lasting restorations. Its unique combination of hydroxyapatite and glass ionomer allows for both versatility and optimal performance in a wide range of dental applications.
